About The Book

What if school wasn’t preparation for life—but life itself?

In The Canopy Method, educator and founder Hanna Marks presents a bold new model for reimagining education—one that centers healing, identity, and neuroscience at its core. Blending personal story, research, and real-world tools, this book offers a 7-pillar blueprint for building schools that teach to the brain, honor emotional growth, and prepare students for life beyond the classroom.

Inside, you’ll discover:

  • Why emotional safety is a prerequisite for learning
  • How to use developmental milestones instead of rigid benchmarks
  • The power of identity portfolios, feedback culture, and language immersion
  • How to raise capable, grounded students—not just compliant ones

This is more than a book. It’s a blueprint for change.

About The Author

Hanna Marks

Hanna Marks is an educational innovator, writer, and mother whose work is rooted in one essential belief: children don’t need to be standardized—they need to be seen. A former teacher with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Hanna spent years working inside schools that prioritized test scores over truth. She saw firsthand how young people—and their teachers—were burning out inside a system that ignored the realities of brain development, trauma, identity, and emotional safety.

The Canopy Method is some of the Author's best work yet. Not only Stimulating Fuel For Higher Consciousness & Better Living, but its 7-pillar tools unveils an historically untapped need for reimagining and revolutionizing education. The brilliant lessons for emotional awareness, growth, and safety was almost like having a personal hand-holding guide to and through one's own personal emotional journey. A buffet of awakenings loaded with Aha's Galore! Every page laced with energetic impulses and projected with transformative intentions that will leave the reader better equipped in so many facets of education and daily living. One of the most beautifully written and profound mind reads in ancient and modern history. Definitely A Go-To Book For The Ages!

I just completed Hanna’s book. It’s an excellent overview of how the educational system can be transformed (from traditional, structural, anti-integrational models) and help students achieve their maximum intellectual and emotional potential. The book ‘walks the talk’ in digestible concepts and examples that make for an enjoyable learning experience for anyone interested in education for our youth.

The Time Has Come for Our Youth to be Educated More EffectivelyDonna Marks

The Canopy Method is a deeply thoughtful, refreshingly human reimagining of what education can be when we center students’ emotional lives, developmental needs, and sense of identity. Hanna Marks weaves personal narrative, neuroscience, and practical insight into a compelling argument for rebuilding schools from the inside out. This isn’t just theory—it’s a clear, actionable framework for creating learning environments where students feel safe, seen, and truly prepared for life, not just standardized tests.
As a veteran educator it was a joy to witness this book come to fruition! It’s necessary considering the state of education in America today.

Finally! Someone gets it! Necessary Truths About Education!Elizabeth R. Straight

As a parent of two young kids, this book completely shifted the way I think about education. It challenged everything I assumed about what school should look like and gave me clarity on the kind of learning environment I want for my children. Thought-provoking, honest, and deeply needed—every parent should read this before choosing a school.
